Pareto Is Not Designed to Scale

A friend pointed me to Paul Graham's essay "Do Things That Don't Scale." He was making the point that what I'm building sounds a lot like what Graham describes. For some services, the unscalability isn't a phase you eventually grow out of. It's the point.
